Welcome to the FixTheMusic Musician Guide

FixTheMusic books professional musicians for events worldwide — weddings, corporate functions, private parties. This guide is everything you need to work with us: how enquiries and quotes work, how your profile is managed, how payments flow, and how to get help fast.

How to use this guide

Each section answers the questions musicians actually ask us, in the order you'll meet them — from your first enquiry through to getting paid. The sections below link to the full pages.

The essentials at a glance

  • Free to join. Listing on FixTheMusic costs nothing.
  • Commission: we deduct 18% from your quote on confirmed bookings (your exact rate is in your contract). To receive your target fee, quote it divided by 0.82 — e.g. to receive €2,000, quote €2,440.
  • Never mention the commission to clients — they should only ever see one total price.
  • Deposit: clients pay a 35% deposit (or the % agreed for that booking) through us to confirm.
  • Payouts: after the event, once the balance has cleared — as a rule within 1–2 working days. We need your bank details; you don't invoice us.
  • Your profile is managed by our team. Email changes to hello@fixthemusic.com with the subject "Profile Update (Your Band Name)".
  • Your dashboardmusicians.fixthemusic.com — is where you reply to enquiries, send quotes (with saved templates), attach files, create payment links, and see bookings and payment status.
  • Keep the short-code (the [abc123] in enquiry subjects) in every reply so threads stay connected.
